Welcome to Jardin Denat - a shared permaculture garden in Collioure

This Permaculture project started in April 2017. A small group of volunteers formed and focused during the first few months on:

• Cleaning the site of invasive plants (acanthus, mimosa roots, brambles, etc.)

• Removal of dead tree stumps

• Setting-up the garden structure (paths, planting spaces and fence)

After the development stage and soil improvement with green manure and mulching, in 2020 the garden entered the planting phase with fruit trees, perpetual vegetables, edible and bee-friendly flowers.

The purpose of Jardin Denat Association is:
 

• Welcoming volunteers for the creation, maintenance and management of Jardin Denat on the land kindly made available by the Town Council of Collioure, a communal space for gardening but also conviviality, sharing and mutual respect.

• Learning and experimentation with permaculture techniques with the aim of creating a productive, aesthetic and educational space by encouraging biodiversity and sustainable development.

• A meeting place for educational and cultural activities.

Participate in the garden:

Day / Hours vary according to the season. If you wish to join in with our work, you will need strong shoes, gloves, sunhat, water to drink and a sense of humour!
